Butler & Associates: A Full-Service Private Investigations Agency

Butler & Associates Private Investigations, a nationally-recognized, full service private investigations agency based in the San Francisco Bay Area, was founded by former F.B.I. Special Agent Charles Latting in 1996. Originally known as Corporate Intelligence Resources, the firm specialized in performing undercover corporate work and research for corporations and businesses throughout California. Licensed private investigator Christopher Butler worked for Mr. Latting from 1998 through 2002 and became owner of the firm in 2002. While continuing to provide in-depth investigations and covert personnel for workplace problems, Butler & Associates also provides outstanding surveillance, security, and undercover sting services to a vast array of clientele.

One unique aspect of Butler & Associates is what the media has dubbed our "PI Mom" team. Comprised of highly-trained female investigators, these PI Moms possess unique skill-sets that make them an invaluable asset to the many complex cases and undercover stings our firm routinely performs. Butler & Associates Private Investigations is not a "middleman" agency; we do not process payments and hire other P.I.'s to do our casework. Our firm is a member of the California Association of Licensed Investigators, the Professional Investigators of California, the 100 Club of Contra Costa County, and the California Association of Workplace Investigators.

What sets Butler & Associates Private Investigations apart from the host of other investigative agencies and private investigators is our extraordinary creativity, coupled with a driven desire to provide our clients with the information they want and expect. As you read through our web site, you will notice that it is very different from most other private investigator's web sites. Our staff has spent many hours compiling information that is intended to address the most frequent questions and concerns presented by our many clients over the years. You won't find flashy graphics, silly music, stock catalog photos of someone else's surveillance equipment, or models posing as our investigators. What you will find is a no-nonsense approach to providing you with information on who we are, who our associates are, and what we can do to address your investigative needs.

Our highly-trained investigators have always been committed to our client's privacy requests. Despite our firm's exposure to ongoing television projects, media publications/appearances, and the press in client-authorized and public cases, we will never discuss any detailed aspects of our client's cases with anyone without the express written consent of our clients. This includes sharing information with law enforcement, attorneys, and/or family members. We will not provide names, videotapes, or pictures to anyone without the express written consent of our clients. Confidentiality is upheld at all costs.

Our investigators understand the importance of listening

In addition to providing outstanding services, we encourage our clients to call us. We understand that the problems our clients are experiencing are real and often emotionally charged. Failure to address serious problems can have traumatic and devastating consequences, both physical and psychological. We further understand that there are times when our clients need to vent their feelings and frustrations. We encourage our clients to vent to us, rather than towards those that are being investigated, or to those about to become the subject of an investigation.
